Le vibrazioni prodotte dagli ascensori sono notevoli e si trasferiscono facilmente alla struttura dell’edificio attraverso i muri: sia le cabine durante il sollevamento che i motori producono vibrazioni.
Il problema è particolarmente rilevante negli edifici molto alti, dove spesso sono presenti più ascensori in funzionamento continuo.
Per evitare che le vibrazioni possano creare danni ai meccanismi di funzionamento e all’edificio, è opportuno isolare le strutture in movimento con i supporti antivibranti.
Il materiale isolante con cui vengono realizzati gli antivibranti per gli ascensori dissipano l’energia cinetica degli organi in movimento e dei motori, smorzando una parte considerevole delle emissioni sonore: si tratta infatti di un materiale elastico che si deforma sotto tensione e con carichi di compressione, ma che è in grado di ritornare sempre alla sua forma originale.
Gli antivibranti per ascensori sono inoltre molto resistenti all’usura e all’aggressione chimica degli oli lubrificanti e, una volta installati, non necessitano di manutenzione.
